Oriol Romeu Will Look to Extend CF Valencia Loan

Chelsea loanee Oriol Romeu has stated today in a press conference that he would like to remain at Valencia for another year to continue his development and guarantee regular first team football. There were reports of Valencia hoping for a permanent move for Romeu in December but Chelsea will not give up the 22 year old so easily.

"“My position is as I’ve always said, I want to be here, I want to give everything to Valencia, have a great year and finish the season well. When the season is over, we’ll sit down and talk. I’ve always said that I want to be comfortable where I am and happy. I will fight to stay for another year, or however many more.”"

This loan has been wonderful for Romeu’s development and the Chelsea brass clearly see the value in the Spaniard as either a squad member or a player to be sold for a considerable fee down the line. Romeu has not achieved all that much in a Chelsea shirt largely due to injury but he has a wonderful footballing pedigree and can certainly contribute to the club in years to come.
