Mourinho Downplays Mario Balotelli Rumors

Chelsea FC manager Jose Mourinho was recently asked about rumored Chelsea transfer target and AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli. The pair worked together when Mourinho spent a year at Inter Milan and were famous for their bustups and disagreements. Balotelli was only 18 years old at the time and was known to be quite the hothead. He has seemed to mature significantly since he moved from Inter to Manchester City and then back to Serie A with AC Milan. Still many people, including many Chelsea fans, have serious questions about him being able to handle the scrutiny of the English media if he were to ever return to the Premier League.

Mourinho on coaching Balotelli again:

"In football you never know the future but I think at this moment he is with a big club, Milan. I suppose that they want to keep the best players and they want to keep the best Italian players. He was already in English football, for sure I am not going to be his manager at Milan or at the Italian national team so I don’t think there is any situation in the future but he’s a good guy, he’s a good kid."

Balotelli blamed much of the bad press he received at City on the media simply digging for stories and knowing that he was good value for one. There is no doubt that Balotelli is a walking headline at times but he can also write his own headlines on the pitch. It is unlikely that Milan will sell him to Chelsea in the summer but crazier things have happened. There is a contingent of Chelsea fans who would love to see Balotelli as a Blue but with Mourinho downplaying the rumors, they may have to resort to FIFA or Football Manager to see him in a Chelsea shirt.
