Romelu Lukaku's Agent: My Client's Future At Chelsea FC Has Yet To Clarified

Romelu Lukaku’s agent Christophe Henrotay has said that his client’s future at Chelsea FC has yet to be decided amid rumors of a falling out with Jose Mourinho. Henrotay told the Evening Standard that while the Belgian striker is still under contract with Chelsea Football Club, he feels the club will bring in a big name striker and decide that his client is surplus to requirements.

This comes on the back of a statement made by Everton FC boss Roberto Martinez that Lukaku’s future will likely be decided after the World Cup in Brazil. Everton is looking to add Romelu Lukaku on a permanent transfer but that supposedly hinges on Chelsea’s interest in Ross Barkley and John Stones.

Christope Henrotay’s statement to the Evening Standard:

“For the moment, Romelu belongs to Chelsea. He has two years left on his contract. It’s going to depend on Chelsea. After that, we’ll see together what the best options are if Chelsea decide to let him go. That they want to bring in a big-name striker has been well-documented. But Chelsea need lots of great strikers. And if there are too many, they’ll choose to allow Romelu to leave. But if they think there aren’t enough forwards, perhaps Romelu will say, ‘I’m interested in prolonging the adventure’ but it’s still too soon.”

It has been said over and over here at The Pride of London that letting Romelu Lukaku leave Chelsea would be a foolish move for the club. He has forced his way to near the top of the Premier League scoring charts while out on loan and has shown he is ready to be a fulltime starter for the Blues. If and when Chelsea do bring in a big name striker, having Lukaku as a second option would leave the club in a most enviable position.

Liverpool and Manchester City have shown what a couple of in form strikers can do for a team and if Chelsea can pair that with the best defense in the league the results could be terrifying for their rivals. Chelsea has no problem defending but they have made scoring goals look impossible against compact and defensive teams. All Romelu Lukaku seems to do is score goals and if they feel he is not quite ready for the Champions League stage, then he can certainly do enough damage in the Premier League. Hopefully all of this talk is just silly speculation and Lukaku will return to the Chelsea fold and become the world class striker that a world class club deserves.
