Chelsea FC have announced their latest preseason friendly against Real Socieded on August 12th at Stamford Bridge. The friendly against Real Sociedad will likely be one of the last warmup matches and we will be seeing more of the senior players than the early preseason matches.

This summer’s preseason tour will be decidedly less international than usual due to the World Cup. Instead of traveling to Asia or the United States, the Blues will stay in Europe but will travel to some interesting locations including Hungary and Austria.

The statement from Chelsea’s official website:

"Chelsea Football Club will welcome Spanish side Real Sociedad to Stamford Bridge for our final pre-season game on Tuesday 12 August, kick-off 7.45pm.The match will be our first home pre-season friendly since 2006, when we drew 1-1 against Celtic. Ticket prices start from just £15 for adults and £5 for juniors and seniors. Those supporters attending will also have the opportunity to watch our new acquisitions in action as Jose Mourinho prepares his side for our first Premier League game of the season at Burnley the following weekend.Real Sociedad, under the guidance of manager Jagoba Arrasate, will play in the 2014/15 Europa League.Source: ChelseaFC.com"

The other friendlies announced just a few weeks ago are against Austrian first division team RZ Pellets WAC, followed by a trip to Slovenia to face NK Olimpija Ljubljana, and finally trips to Holland and Germany to play Vitesse Arnhem and Werder Bremen. Vitesse is seen as Chelsea’s feeder club and many youngsters from the Blues’ setup get sent on loan there to get regular first team action. This friendly is against a more high profile side than the others as Real Socieded had a top-10 finish in La Liga last season.
