Video Of The Day: Cesc Fabregas All Goals And Assists For Barcelona
Today’s video is a YouTube compilation of all of Cesc Fabregas’s goals and assists from his time at FC Barcelona from 2011-14 and it is a wonderful sight to see for Chelsea fans. The pure talent and skill on display is a thing of beauty and it shows the goalscoring touch that Fabregas possesses. He has always been a talented football when he was with Arsenal but became a much better goal scorer when he began to play for Barcelona.

At Arsenal, Fabregas scored 57 goals in 303 appearances which is a solid return for a midfielder but nothing spectacular. At Barcelona he improved his goalscoring touch to almost one goal every three games with 42 goals in 151 appearances. His assist to appearances stayed about the same when he made the move so it shows that he did not become a more selfish player but simply became a more polished finisher and was hungrier for goals especially when deployed as a false nine.

At Chelsea Fabregas’s role is still unclear. Some believe that he will line up as a number 10 behind the striker but others believe that he will be deployed in a deep lying playmaker role alongside Nemanja Matic. If he is deployed as a number 10 then the goals and assists will likely keep coming at a similar rate especially with a great striker like Diego Costa playing ahead of him.
If he is deployed deeper then he numbers may take a dip but his impact will still be felt on any given match. Whatever the case may be, it is clear that Fabregas is a world class player and adds a significant presence to Chelsea’s midfield that is proven in the pace and power of the Premier League.
