For whatever reason, Raymond Domenech felt the need to call out Jose Mourinho for what he calls a “disproportionate ego”. He mocks the manager because he believes that he has become too arrogant for his own good but the irony is overwhelming for a man who has admitting to using astrology to help him determine his starting lineups. It is one thing to go with gut instinct but letting the planets and the stars choose your lineup is ludicrous.

Raymond Domenech on Jose Mourinho’s “disproportionate ego”:

"“That’s the problem with translators. There comes a time when you are convinced that you are behaving how they say you are. When everything is going well for him, he gets all the credit, but when it is not, he pushed the blame onto his players. He is a translator with a disproportionate ego.”Source: IB Times"

Jose Mourinho is an easy target for derision from managers and people in the footballing world. He comes off as arrogant, is a bit abrasive at times, and can sometimes lose control of his emotions. His passionate celebrations and press conferences often rub people the wrong way but he continues to be himself. One thing no one can deride is his closet full of silverware and his fantastic record as a manager. Raymond Domenech may think he is arrogant or full of himself but with all that Mourinho has accomplished, Domenech’s opinion means nothing at all.
