Chelsea are considering a move for Sevilla winger Vitolo. Antonio Conte is looking to increase his options up front and ease the pressure on Eden Hazard.

While Chelsea are reportedly on the verge of closing a deal for Alex Sandro, they are also considering moves further up the field. The latest rumours suggest that the Blues are targeting Sevilla winger Vitolo, with an offer over £30 million being weighed up.

The Mirror reports that Antonio Conte is a fan of Vitolo and will prioritise him as he strengthens his attacking options.

"The Chelsea boss, looking to add even more quality to his newly-crowned Premier League champions, is a big admirer of the 27-year-old schemer.Vitolo, full name Victor Machín Pérez, has a £35million release clause in his contract and has won the Europa League three times with Sevilla."

With Champions League football on the horizon, Conte needs a deeper and stronger squad in order to compete on all fronts. Pedro and Willian tagged in and out of the team last season. They adequately supported Eden Hazard as the Blues romped to Premier League success.

However, the trio need more competition to ensure that they stay on top of their game. Signing the exciting Vitolo will do that. The Spaniard racked up six assists and six goals last season and would immediately have a starting claim at Stamford Bridge.

Moreover, in the inflated world of football transfers, a £35 million fee is a relatively reasonable price. Chelsea are about to spend over £60 million on a wingback – getting a winger for about half the price is a decent deal.

Vitolo has not been mentioned much during this transfer season, so the risk of a bidding war driving the price up is low. Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested, but a transfer ban renders their threat toothless.

Despite the Premier League losing its glamour in recent years, many players still want to chance their arm in England. Vitolo should be no different and will hopefully be eager to join the champions.
