Chelsea FC fans everywhere have been worried about the condition of our Belgian shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois after he collided with Arsenal winger Alexis Sanchez in the match on Sunday. After much speculation on the condition of Thibaut Courtois, it has been confirmed that he is fine and will be fit to play in any upcoming matches. Courtois was treated for a cut he received on his ear and was tested for any possible concussion but was cleared and was allowed to leave that night from the hospital.

The Belgian had been hit by Sanchez early on but played on until the 26th minute where he was forced to be subbed off by Chelsea FC’s medical staff. Before this season began, the Premier League instated a new rule that states that if there is a suspected concussion, or any signs of a concussion, the player must be subbed off immediately.
"“New rules on concussion are having a positive impact. FIFA carried out a number of studies over a number of years. It is a serious issue. There was a case involving concussion in a Belgian game this weekend too. In the case of the Premier League, I think it was good to replace Courtois.”-Dr Michel D’Hooghe, the chairman of FIFA’s medical committeeSky Sports News HQ"
Many fans questioned Chelsea FC’s medical staff on their choice in leaving Thibaut Courtois in after the initial collision as it seemed to have knocked the keeper out cold for a minute or so. It was a very good choice though to sub him out for Petr Cech, as his ear began to bleed during the match. Thankfully our number one keeper is healthy with no signs of real damage. Hopefully he can continue on with his impressive form he has showed throughout this season.
