This is a time when managerial quality in the league is at its absolute best. Pep, Jose, Klopp, Pochettino, Ranieri and many other top managers all work in this league. When asked how he felt about being mentioned in the same breath as the “super coaches” Pep, Jose and Klopp, Conte said that he felt honoured but the league isn’t between managers, its between great teams and players.

  • Comparisons with Jose Mourinho are inevitable for every Chelsea manager. Mourinho has cast a large shadow and few have managed to shine enough to cast their own at this club. When asked about said comparisons, Conte said that if there had to be one thing, he thinks that being a winner would be it. Conte feels that not everyone has that mentality and the few that do are special.

Every manager has his own methods and for Conte, his methods are all about making the fans feel his and his players’ passion on the pitch. And, of course, victory.

Conte is a passionate man who wants to see that passion reflected in his team. He wants the hard work put in on the training ground to materialize on the pitch. When asked about his touchline antics, Conte said:

"That is who I am. I want the players to feel my frustration if the things we’ve worked on all week don’t show on the pitch."

He trains with the players, he wins with the players, he loses, “hopefully not so often” he says with a smile, with the players.

When asked about his philosophy, Conte says, “I only know one verb, work work work.”
