Christian Pulisic (No. 10) Right winger, United States

Pulisic has been missed from Chelsea’s line-up for a while now. The arrival of Timo Werner, the development of Tammy Abraham and Pulisic’s own injury problems have kept him out of the side for longer than anyone in the Chelsea community is happy with. His trickery has been missed, his directness—as well as his willingness and ability to take on defenders—have been absent from the Blues’ attack for quite some time. He just needs to stay fit, and for that we can all sympathize with Lampard because finding the balance for a player like Pulisic is very difficult indeed.

Olivier Giroud (No. 18) Striker, France

Many have come to the conclusion that Tammy Abraham needs to start with Werner to get the best out of him. Unfortunately, Goal-ivier Giroud has been scoring, even when the Blues have been finding it difficult to create quality chances. Lampard starts players by merit and the Frenchman deserves the starts than he’s getting.

Timo Werner (No. 11) Left winger, Germany

A lot of discussions have been had about Werner’s best and most effective position. Many think he’s not scoring many goals as he “should be” because he’s not been played as the striker. Abraham may just be the ingredient needed to get the best out of Werner, but the German’s position is not of as much significance as many might think. Werner’s ability to peel away for defenders and make himself difficult to contain is extremely valuable. He starts—probably.
