Callum Hudson-Odoi (No. 28) Right Wingback, England

Callum Hudson-Odoi has been in the shadows after coming back from the international break. He came back with a slight knock and hasn’t been able to lock his spot in the starting lineup again. Reece James has also been in brilliant form and has put in consistent shifts down the right-wing. He has combined really well with Azpilicueta and Mount and would have several assists if Chelsea had a proper no.9 at the top (Chelsea’s top scorer, perhaps?).

N’Golo Kante (No. 7) Central Midfielder, France

N’Golo Kante was terrific against Porto and Manchester City as well. He has struggled with injuries this season but has been brilliant when fit. With Kovacic out for the game against Brighton, Kante will probably have to start this game. His partnership with Jorginho has matured over the past few months, and he has been able to cover the length of the pitch with Jorginho dictating the pace of the game. In an ideal world, Billy Gilmour would be starting with Kante or Jorginho to give rest to the other.

Jorginho (No. 5) Central Midfielder, Italy

In an ideal world, I would be mentioning Billy Gilmour here. Unfortunately, Tuchel has his ways, and the long term future of the academy and club is uncertain, but we are doing well this season, so all of that doesn’t matter, does it? So, Jorginho will probably start against Brighton and dictate the game as always.

Marcos Alonso (No. 3) Left Wingback, Spain

Marcos Alonso has been on the bench for the past few games. Ben Chilwell has been in brilliant form, and Tuchel has trusted him in the most crucial games. However, Chilwell has started a large number of games in a row, and it makes sense to rest him at this point. Alonso was bright in the first few games under Tuchel as he showed why he was the preferred wingback in the Conte era. The battle at left wingback is quite exciting, and the healthy competition will only benefit Chelsea
