Mason Mount (Right winger): 7.5/10

Mount continued to justify his status as the most important player in the team with yet another solid display. The youngster was everywhere on the pitch. He constantly dropped deep to link up play and tried to test the goalkeeper on several occasions. He derived two good saves from Fabianski in the second half and nearly had an assist to his name with a last-second cross to Tammy Abraham. He did lack the edge on the night though and was guilty of giving the ball away on occasions.

Timo Werner (Striker): 8.5/10

Barring the glaring miss in the second half, Werner enjoyed a good game in front of the goal. The German ended his long drought with a simple strike in the first half. Moreover, he proved to be a nuisance to deal with for the West Ham defenders, as he constantly picked the ball in dangerous areas. The German attacker was booked in the first half for a silly foul, but enjoyed a good outing overall. Nevertheless, he does get ‘.5’ less than desired due to the horrific miss.

Christian Pulisic (Left winger): 7/10

The American attacker did not receive the ball in dangerous areas. As a result, he rarely was presented with an opportunity to run at the opposition defenders. Nevertheless, the little time he spent on the ball, he looked lively. He did have a good early opportunity to put the Blues ahead but fired his shot straight at Fabianski. The winger did play a key role in Chelsea’s opening goal, as he supplied the pre-assist to Chilwell.

Hakim Ziyech (Left winger): 6.5/10

Tuchel’s first substitution of the night saw Hakim Ziyech replace Pulisic in the Chelsea attack. The Moroccan tried to add spark to the attack, but was unable to do so. He circulated the ball well with his teammates but could not help the Blues find the insurance goal.

Tammy Abraham (Striker): N/A

Those waiting for a Tammy Abraham appearance were not disappointed as Tuchel decided to send the striker on late into the match. The Englishman did not get many minutes on the night but he did have a golden opportunity to put the Blues 2-0 up with the last kick of the match. However, he failed to hit the target from close range.
