Here is your betting guide to the Premier League match between Chelsea and West Ham United. Produced for PoL, as always, by Mike Malley

Well, folks, it looks like we’re in for another rollercoaster season at Stamford Bridge. The Blues’ 2-1 defeat at Southampton was an all-around embarrassing display by a squad that lacked leadership, intensity, and attacking creativity.

Todd Boehly’s big spending has been ineffective so far, although many of his signings have yet to dawn a Chels‘ uniform for the first time, and Thomas Tuchel appears to be growing more frustrated with every disappointing result. The German has been known to have a short fuse in both his homeland and the French capital, but let’s hope to avoid a calamitous blow-up like the ones at Dortmund and PSG.

I acknowledged my worries about the final scoreline at St. Mary’s in the betting guide ahead of that match and I must do the same again here. The Hammers performed admirably in their 1-1 draw at home to Tottenham on Wednesday and even looked more likely to take all three points from the contest at times.

Please now click on the below link named ‘Next page’. This will take you to the following section of betting tips.

Lucas Paqueta was unsurprisingly impressive in his brief cameo at the London Stadium, linking up well with Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Fornals on either flank. David Moyes’ men are not to be taken lightly, which is why I’m surprised at Chelsea’s -195 moneyline odds on FanDuel. I’ll probably steer clear of betting the final result yet again.

One bet I’ve been riding consistently throughout the first five matchweeks is the both teams to score prop. It’s already been included in the guides four times, hitting only twice against the Foxes and the Saints. I like it again for Saturday at -130 odds, as both the Blues and West Ham have been finding the back of the net with regularity in recent games. Chelsea has only been shutout once in the Premier League this season, while the Hammers have been banging in the goals domestically and in Europe, scoring eight in their previous five in all competitions.

Both managers have some serious firepower at their respective disposals, especially with the aforementioned Paqueta, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Raheem Sterling, and Gianluca Scamacca all moving to London during the summer window. I’m confident we’ll see goals in this match.

A second prop I like for the derby is away team over 3.5 corners at +100 odds. West Ham is a physically massive team that relies on slow build-up play and crosses to score a lot of its goals. This style also leads to many corner kicks being taken, as evidenced by the fact that Chelsea’s crosstown rivals have totaled more than three corners in four of their seven total matches.

CFC will face a tough task in defending the likes of Kurt Zouma, Declan Rice, Tomas Soucek, and Michail Antonio on these set pieces, so you know Moyes will have it installed as part of his side’s game plan. The plus juice odds make this prop play particularly attractive.

Official Chelsea odds (via FanDuel as of September 1)

Chelsea ML: -195

West Ham ML: +500

Draw: +350

Over/Under: 2.5 (-138/+114)

My picks:

My cynicism about this Chelsea season is growing with each match, so you’ll probably find predominantly neutral picks in my guides if the team’s form continues on its current trajectory. My two first picks, the both teams to score (-130) and away team over 3.5 corner kicks (+100) props, follow this pattern precisely. I’ll take a similar lane with my final selection, betting over 2.5 total goals at -138 odds. I’ve been perfect on goal totals so far during this Blues campaign, so let’s hope for that trend to continue.
