Harry Maguire is a center back for League One side Sheffield United and he is reportedly on the Chelsea FC radar as they attempt to bring in more and more young talent to bolster their academy and hopefully the first team for years to come. Maguire is only 20 years old and has already been a regular in the Sheffield first team for three years. The youngster was named Sheffield United’s Player of the Season and he was selected in the League One Team of The Year for 2011/12 and 2012/13 by the BBC’s Match of The Day magazine. He made his 100th appearance for Sheffield before his twentieth birthday and is even the teams current leading goalscorer.

According to the Metro, Chelsea have been tracking the youngster for some time now and sent scouts to see him keep a clean sheet against Fulham FC in the FA Cup yesterday night. Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur scouts were also reportedly at the cup tie and there were reports of David Moyes interested in the youngster in the January transfer window.

At 6’4″ the youngster clearly has the size and physicality to compete with the big boys in the Premier League. He is also developed ahead of his years and has been the heart of the Sheffield United defense ever since he was promote to the first team. The reports claim that Maguire, who is an England U21 international, would be available for as little as £4-5 million so it would be smart business for any Premiership club to snatch him up. If he was to join Chelsea, they would likely send him on a Championship or Premiership loan right away for him to add to his already impressive resume.
