Inter Milan’s Sporting Director Spotted at Stamford Bridge

The rumors of a possible exit to Inter Milan for Chelsea FC forward Fernando Torres have gained some steam in recent weeks and yesterday they became slightly more credible if you’ve accepted that theory. Inter Milan’s sporting director Piero Ausilio was spotted at Stamford Bridge for the match against Galatasaray and many believe it was to scout Fernando Torres and possibly John Obi Mikel.

Many other important figures in world football were present to see Didier Drogba’s return and it may have been the same for Ausilio. However, if this theory of Torres and Obi Mikel moving to Inter is to be believed then Inter’s presence might lend some credence to it.

Inter have shown some more ambition since being purchased by Indonesian billionaire Erick Thorir with the signing of Nemanja Vidic to be made official in the summer and the Chelsea pair would be nice marquee signings. Thorir has publicly denied that Inter has made contact with either of the Chelsea players but did not rule out that they could be interested in them.

While Torres has not lit up the scoring charts for Chelsea, a move to a slower league in Italy may benefit the 29 year old. He would still be play for a marquee club with a global brand and could be playing in Europe once the Thorir project gets off the ground. Torres would have to take a significant pay cut to play for Inter but it may be worth it to become a regular starter once again.
