As the off-season summer is only two months away, the transfer rumor mill is running wild. This time it involves Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and Oscar transferring to Paris St. Germain in the summer. The two clubs meet in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and play their first leg tomorrow in Paris. The speculation started from simple responses by PSG teammates Yohan Cabaye and Lucas Moura that the media took great interest in. Both of them said they would like to be reunited with their former teammates at the big-spending PSG. They praised Hazard and Oscar for their abilities and technical quality. Cabaye and Hazard played four seasons together at Lille while Oscar and Lucas have been friends since their time in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

While Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho claimed he was not bothered by the speculation, he did respond with a sarcastic answer, “It’s not irritating. No problem. If there is Financial Fair Play, they don’t have money to buy them. If there is no FPP and they threw something crazy, £300million for both, I think Chelsea has to think about it.” He was referring to PSG’s future problems with Financial Fair Play that set limits on financial losses. It is believed that PSG may not have followed the guidelines implemented by UEFA and may be disqualified from European competition in the upcoming seasons. On the other hand, Chelsea have taken the new rules seriously as suggested by selling Juan Mata to Manchester United.

For his part, Oscar has distanced himself from the rumors and has committed himself long-term to Chelsea. He would like to follow in the footsteps of club legend Didier Drogba, saying “Didier has always been my idol. Now I am wearing the same jersey he used to have. I am writing my own Chelsea story.” On the other hand, Eden Hazard has been a little bit more open about possibly moving away from Stamford Bridge in the future. Last month, he admitted to wanting to play at PSG while at Lille and would find it difficult to turn down a big-time move to Real Madrid.
