Reports from Sky Sports journalist and transfer rumor specialist Gianluca Di Marzio claim that Paris Saint Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi’s agents have had talks with Chelsea FC about a possible transfer. The report claims that Lavezzi has been on his way out of Paris for some time now with Inter trying to take him on loan during the January transfer window but it was not possible. This is supposedly because Lavezzi promised Napoli that they would be the only club he plays for if ever returns to Italy.

The report goes on to claim that Lavezzi’s camp has met with Chelsea brass in London recently and that a second meeting is in the works. Chelsea’s interest is due to Jose Mourinho’s admiration of the player who he got to see up close and personal when Mourinho was at Inter Milan and Lavezzi was in Naples.

The Argentine has scored three in goals in his last three games against Chelsea FC and would be a fine addition to the Chelsea lineup. He is capable of playing as a winger or forward but has more of a nose for goal than any of the other attacking midfielders playing for the Blues. His thirst for goals and creativity is similar to Juan Mata but with the added benefit of being hardworking in defense and tracking back. Lavezzi can play as a center forward and he has compared himself to Carlos Tevez in the past. So while he is not your typical target man he has plenty of goals in his boots.

The links between Lavezzi and Chelsea are tenuous at best but as stated earlier, he would be a fine addition for the Blues. He is a fine player who has only struggled to break in to the Argentinian national team because of three fellows named Tevez, Aguero, and Messi who sit above him on the depth chart. The best part about Lavezzi coming to Stamford Bridge would be that he will not be scoring against the Blues anymore. He would be the next of many players bought by Chelsea that have a penchant for scoring against the Blues.
