Romelu Lukaku: Thibaut Courtois Is Ready For England And Chelsea FC

facebooktwitterreddit

Chelsea FC striker Romelu Lukaku was asked about the probability of his Belgium teammate Thibaut Courtois playing in London next season and Lukaku was noncommittal in his answer but that he thinks it is time that the keeper played in England. Courtois has been singled out by manager Jose Mourinho as a player that will be brought back to Stamford Bridge after the World Cup is over but Romelu Lukaku has not received that same assurance.

More from Chelsea FC News

Mourinho said about Thibaut Courtois and his future that “there is no story. After the World Cup, Courtois will return directly to Stamford Bridge”, which is exactly what many Chelsea fans want to hear. They are tired of the speculation surrounding the future of the young keeper and it is wonderful to finally have some confirmation. There is still the decision on what to do with Petr Cech but that will be addressed in due time.

Romelu Lukaku on where Thibaut Courtois play next year:

"“I don’t know, I only read about it – you’ll have to ask him. I think it’s time. He’s played at a very high level in Spain for three years. It’s time to see him in England.”Source: The Standard"

Now as for Lukaku, where he will play is another mystery in itself. He has been linked to a whole host of clubs including Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, and Wolfsburg. Despite this interest, the logical choice for Jose Mourinho and Chelsea is to work with a striker duo or rotation of Diego Costa and Romelu Lukaku with either Fernando Torres or Demba Ba as the third choice. However things are rarely so straightforward in world football and there are tough decisions to be made at Stamford Bridge but no matter what happens, hopefully Romelu Lukaku will be at Chelsea next year.
