Video Of The Day: Farewell Demba Ba

Today’s video of the day comes to you courtesy of Chelsea FC YouTube legend Feroze17 and it is a farewell video for the recently departed Demba Ba who has made the move to Istanbul club Besiktas. The video chronicles the Chelsea striker’s most memorable goals including the goals against PSG and the goal against Liverpool after the “slip” by Steven Gerrard. It is the latest tribute video from Feroze17 who also made the fantastic video chronicling Chelsea’s journey to the 2012 Champions League final called “Against All Odds”.

While he didn’t exactly light up the pitch for the Blues, Ba was a class act at Chelsea and is the kind of player any team would love to have, especially at the relatively low price Besiktas secured him at. Demba Ba is the highest profile player on the current Besiktas squad and despite being one of the bigger clubs in Turkey, they do not have the same high profile of Galatasaray or Fenerbahce.

While it is certainly a step down for the striker, the club is very excited to have him and Besiktas president Fikret Orman said that “Ba is a player we all believe in, we put in a lot of time and effort to complete the transfer to the best of our interests”. This is a club where Demba Ba can be the star that he is and get the minutes and adulation that a player and professional of his caliber deserves.
