We here at The Pride of London would like to introduce a brand new daily segment that we like to call Lampard’s Links where we share some of the cool/interesting/funny/sad things happening around world football with our awesome readers. Here is is the first edition of Lampard’s Links and we look forward to many more!

  • Louis van Gaal calls his Manchester United squad “broken” in an interview with The Guardian. Seems like the newly crowned “genius” of world football is making excuses just in case his team falls flat on its face this season. Van Gaal has made some good signings in Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw and the squad should be very good going forward but he still has some serious questions to answer about the defense.
  • Ronaldinho and Atletico Mineiro agree to go their separate ways after the midfielder’s contract was terminated. Will anyone else take a chance on a talented player who seems not to care so much about football anymore? Rumors are swirling that he will make a big money move to MLS which would be great publicity for the league but Ronaldinho may not care enough about playing in the United States to stay focused and fit.
  • Liverpool FC announce signing of Belgian youngster Divock Origi from French club Lille but he will be loaned back to the club for the 2014/15 season. The loan is an interesting move after the move for Loic Remy fell through considering the Reds only have two strikers in Daniel Sturridge and Rickie Lambert. Origi is coming off a fantastic World Cup where he looked like Belgium’s best striker in the first few matches ahead of Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku.
