Sky Sports are reporting another long rumored move for Chelsea FC’s Josh McEachran to go on loan for the 2014/15 season. Many Chelsea fans were hoping for the youngster to make another move to a Championship or Premier League club but instead he is heading to “Chelsea B” or “Cobham East” also known as Vitesse Arnhem.

This move may seem like a step down for Josh McEachran but the most important thing for him at this point is getting regular first team football. He will not be guaranteed that at Vitesse Arnhem but given the relationship that the two clubs have Chelsea can put pressure on the management there and push Josh McEachran in to the lineup. Hopefully he will perform well enough to not need any outside influences to get playing time.

Here is an excerpt from the Sky Sports article on Josh McEachran

"Sky Sports understands Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran is poised to join Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem on loan.McEachran is believed to have agreed a deal to join Chelsea’s feeder club Vitesse on a season-long loan deal. The 21-year-old is well down the pecking order at Chelsea and Blues boss Jose Mourinho is happy to send him out on loan again.McEachran has had four spells out on loan at Swansea, Middlesbrough, Watford and Wigan during the last two-and-a-half seasons after finding his path to the first team at Stamford Bridge blocked.Source: Sky Sports"

Vitesse has been a great development club for Chelsea with recent players like Christian Atsu, Lucas Piazon, and Patrick Van Aanholt spending time there. While none of them have made the jump to the senior squad they have raised their profile at the Dutch club and earned permanent moves or loans elsewhere. Josh McEachran will have to make the most of his opportunity if the reports are true and hopefully get his career back on track.
