Chelsea FC midfielder Willian has returned to the squad after a difficult summer with the Brazilian national team but seems to be his usual positive self. He knows he has a tough task ahead of him trying to get in to the first team with players like Eden Hazard, Andre Schurrle, Mohamed Salah, and Oscar all vying for the same spots.

Willian told The Evening Standard that he was pleased with his performance last season but knows that he wants to “play better and just be better”. He had a decent return with four goals in his first season with the club and also added four assists. Obviously there is room for improvement in the goalscoring department for the pacey winger but he can impact matches in many other ways.

Willian on wanting to score more goals and the squad’s dynamic:

"“I think I have to score more goals, to play better and just be better. Last season I did good, not bad, but I want more. I’m feeling good and am very happy to be back at Chelsea to work with my friends and my team. New players have come in and this season we have to win some titles. After the World Cup I stayed in Brazil with my family, just to relax and not think about football. I think it’s important that when you come back, you come back more fresh to start again. The squad is stronger outside the pitch. We are like a family. It’s important to have a team like a family. This is good when you get to play.”Source: Evening Standard"

Willian provides an interesting dimension to the game with his pace and counter attacking ability. He is not the player to break down defensive teams but he has shown that he can break on the counter with deadly pace. The Brazilian does not always make the right decision when he has the ball at his feet but that should improve as his chemistry with his teammates grows and matures.
