The future of Chelsea FC midfielder Oscar has taken an interesting new turn, with Juventus reportedly willing to sacrifice Arturo Vidal in order to fund a move for the Blues player.

As we covered in our Rumour Round-Up this morning, The Express cite Italian sources when claiming that Juve will let the Chilean midfielder leave the club should it yield them enough money to pursue the Brazilian.

Vidal has apparently been wanting away from the Torino-based team, with rumours heavily linking him with a move to Real Madrid. New boss Rafa Benítez (yes, the fella who won the Europa League with Chelsea) is thought to be close to agreeing personal terms with Vidal, on a five-year deal.

While the Italian club have been so far reluctant to authorise the transfer, the availability of Oscar as a potential replacement has softened their stance.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Juventus will finally sanction Vidal’s exit as they look to negotiate a deal for Blues playmaker Oscar.

‘The Serie A champions have already seen a £20million bid rejected by Jose Mourinho, who is said to be holding out for at least £25m.’

For the Blues this would be an interesting move. Oscar is undoubtedly a talented player, and although there have been questions raised over his consistency, £25million is more than decent compensation for the 23-year-old.

Having said that, why would the club want him to leave? He’s only 23 and you would expect that consistency would come with maturity. Furthermore, there is potential for him to improve as a player in general too.

There also seems to be very few concrete deals forming from all the speculation linking the club with the likes of Paul Pogba and Arda Turan. It would be silly for Mourinho to sell Oscar before ensuring a replacement has been found.

All in all though, it looks as if The Old Lady is ready to act on the interest expressed by manager Massimiliano Allegri last week.

I for one, meanwhile, will hope that Oscar will still be a Blues player come Septemeber.
