Chelsea have already completed the signings of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro this summer while the arrival of Jamie Gittens is only a matter of time after Borussia Dortmund announced the move was set to happen. Estevao will join the Blues after the Club World Cup as well. On the other hand, all this business could lead to the departure of quite a few players.
Ideally, fans would not want to see any starters leave. But it looks like that has not stopped Arsenal from trying to sign Noni Madueke this summer.
Madueke played consistent football for Chelsea last season. But with Pedro Neto ahead of him in the pecking order and Estevao coming, while Gittens is expected to be the starter on the other wing, playing time might get harder to come by moving forward. Will that lead to the England international's departure?
Florian Plettenberg has confirmed that an offer has been made by Arsenal for Madueke. A post from the reporter reads:
"An Arsenal offer for Noni Madueke, 100% confirmed as revealed today. He is one of several top options for the wing."
'100% confirmed' - Premier League giants Arsenal make offer for Chelsea player
Madueke is a good talent for sure and over his time at Chelsea, he has improved in a lot of aspects. Of course, there are still areas of his game that need more polish, but one cannot forget that he is still just 23 years of age.
This might not be the time to part ways with Madueke. Of course, if Estevao and Gittens settle in, and Neto continues to perform at the level we have seen at the Club World Cup, then an exit might be worth considering in the future. But not yet.
As for Arsenal, it looks like they have a particular interest in signing players from Chelsea. They have already signed Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer while both Madueke and Nicolas Jackson are believed to be on their radar.
