An ex-Manchester United star claims Chelsea superstar Cole Palmer's value might eventually reach £200 million. The retired defender had plenty of reasons and points to make regarding 'Ice Cold' Palmer. But I'd have to disagree with Jaap Stam on this one. I'll explain just why I'm at odds with the latter's valuation In due course.

Meanwhile a journalist claims that the Blues standout has surpassed a once outstanding former teammate. Palmer is already way ahead of this one-time £100m signing at Manchester City. The player in question wouldn't even be worth half of his previously mentioned selling price. And, most shockingly, the winger has actually regressed under so-called genius Pep Guardiola's mentorship. Whereas the Spaniard used to often improve players, he shackled and negatively affected this one. Some people believe Palmer undoubtedly made the right choice in leaving Etihad Stadium.

Finally, on our list for the day, we speak on Palmer supposedly being second to another rising star of world football. Barcelona and Spain wideman Lamine Yamal is a precocious talent, of course. His ability and prowess at the tender age of 17 is a marvel. Maybe that is why he has landed above the famous playmaker in this particular ranking. Don't worry, all will be revealed.

Jaap Stam is incorrect

I'd be totally amazed if Chelsea ever decide that they want to sell Palmer. If they do, I think a price tag closer to £250m will probably be slapped on the England international.

"It would still be great to see him at Man Utd and being a fan of the club he would probably like that to happen as well.

However, in his current form there might not be any clubs who can afford him. He might one day be worth £200million the way he is going"
Jaap Stam

Cole Palmer vs Jack Grealish

Just read this damming assessment:

"Cole Palmer 'right to get away from Pep Guardiola' and 'plays like Jack Grealish used to'."
Chris McKenna, Star

On the up

This year's 'highest transfer value climbers' list has just been published. Notably, seven Premier League players were named. Palmer was, predictably, in the top two. Yet he was beaten to first place by Yamal. Transfermarkt assert that the former's expense rose from £108m to £178m.
