Branislav Ivanovic's Top 5 Goals for Chelsea FC

The big Serbian defender is best known for his towering headers, intimidating presence, and his ability to lock down the right side of defense for the Blues. Ivanovic has also scored 24 goals in 250 appearances with several of them being very important for the club. In fact, since Ivanovic made his Premier League debut, the PL's top-scoring defenders in open play are John Terry (18), Gary Cahill (17) and Ivanovic (15). Ivanovic showed excellent poise and finished the move like a striker in fine form. The Serbian had begun to lock down a starting spot at right back that he has yet to relinquish and instantly wrote himself in to Chelsea lore with a double against an archrival. It was a well struck finish that capped Ivanovic's excellent match performance and while he was not voted man of the match he certainly played like one. Frank Lampard's penalty sent the game to extra time as Chelsea and Napoli seemed headed to penalties to decide who would go through. Fernando Torres did well to put Chelsea in the lead but Benfica equalized through a late Oscar Cardozo penalty in the second half. With the match well in to second half stoppage time and both teams seemingly headed for extra time, Juan Mata played provider for the second time in two years in a European final and lofted a corner to the far post.
