Paul Lambert: Aston Villa Have Chelsea FC Worked Out

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert believes that his side have the stuff to get all three points when Chelsea FC and Jose Mourinho come to Villa Park on Saturday. The reverse fixture was full of controversy and took a late goal by Branislav Ivanovic to seal victory for the Blues. Lambert feels that his side can take heart from the last match but he would be foolish to think that this is the same Chelsea side they faced in August.

Lambert’s comments on the upcoming match:

"“We know we can hurt them and we have to try to do that. There was a good case for both a penalty and sending off in the last game. We have nothing to lose. Nobody expects anything from us. You always have that belief with us that we are going to create things. Christian [Benteke], Gabby Agbonlahor and Andi Weimann have been an absolute credit to us since I have been here. When they are on song these three are an absolute handful…Christian’s two goals against Norwich game will give him confidence and he did it at Stamford Bridge as well so he knows he can do it.”"

Lambert is right in thinking that no one expects anything from Villa but there is no way Chelsea overlooks the Birmingham side despite the two big matches they have coming up. Jose Mourinho will have his players focused on the task at hand before their dates with Galatasaray and Arsenal the following week. Villa are not a powerful defensive side but they have some interesting options going forward including the in form Benteke who is always dangerous. Anything can happen in football but Chelsea will be prepared for whatever Villa throws at them.
