Chelsea FC: Thorgan Hazard Wants Premier League Loan

Chelsea FC loanee and younger brother to Eden, Thorgan Hazard is having a fine season on loan to Belgian Juliper Pro League club Zulte-Waregem. So good in fact that he won the Belgian Player of the Year award for the 2013 calendar year. Someone at such a young age having that much success in one of the lower level leagues in Europe is likely ready to shine on a bigger stage and Thorgan Hazard feels that way as well.

Thorgan spoke to Radio Television Belge Francophone (RTBF), the public broadcasting organization of the French Community of Belgium, and explained that he would like to seek out a new challenge in the form of either playing with Chelsea or going on loan in the Premier League or the Bundesliga in Germany. This was not a power play or a call for attention by any means, just simply a youngster who feels ready for another challenge and his parent club will surely oblige his request.

Thorgan Hazard’s comments to RTBF on his future:

"“At the end of the season, I’ll return to Chelsea. Then we will discuss our options. But next season I would like to play in the Premier League or in the Bundesliga. Chelsea will decide, but I won’t stay in Belgium.”"

The younger Hazard brother will probably have played his last match in Belgium by season’s end but he has seen his stock rise higher than ever the past two seasons. Not all of the attention has been good however as there was controversy surrounding his appointment as club captain despite being an on loan player. Whether Hazard had a hand in that or could have refused it is unknown but it was not the type of attention he needed at the time. The attention he needs however is if he gets selected to the Belgium squad traveling to the World Cup. If he is indeed selected and given a chance to impress, then his stock will surely rise even further and he will find no shortage of suitors for his loan ambitions in England or Germany.
