Sevilla FC defeated SL Benfica in the Europa League Final in Turin tonight and we here at The Pride Of London have some of the best Twitter reactions to the outcome of the match. As you could assume, the majority of the tweets revolved around the supposed curse that was placed on Benfica by their old manager Bela Guttman in 1961 after he was sacked for asking for a pay raise. While many do not put much stock in curses, it may simply be a case of believing something so much that it becomes real. Benfica players seem to hear about the curse all too often and the pressure of breaking the “curse” proved to be too much for them tonight.
On a personal note, I still prefer the Chicago Cubs Curse of the Billy Goats than the one Guttmann put upon Benfica.

I believe #Benfica should be patient. The year 2062 is almost here when this Bela Guttman's curse expires..SMH pic.twitter.com/rg5Jwlkhcv

Gotta feel for Benfica a bit, but when you can’t take a proper pen, you deserve to lose.

It's sad to think the majority of Chelsea's midfield is gutted right now, since we bought them from Benfica.

Benfica have now lost EIGHT straight European finals: all by a 1-goal margin or after extra time or after penalty shootout. That's a REAL...

If Roy needs a video of how not to approach a pen shoot out, #Benfica just filmed it for him
