Chelsea FC midfielder Eden Hazard expressed his desire to improve his game, win trophies and silverware with the Blues, and to bring home the Ballon d’Or. Hazard was voted as the PFA’s Young Player of the Year and was also voted as the Chelsea Player of the Year by the fans. He spoke to the club’s official website and expressed that he knows he has to improve his game in order to win the silverware he came to Chelsea for.

Eden Hazard on improving his game and winning silverware with Chelsea:

"“I know I have to do better, in training and on the pitch. If I can score more I will score more and next season I hope I will be better. I want to be the best, I hope one day I can win the Ballon d’Or, maybe not now but if I work every day and take pleasure from my game then why not?The Champions League and the World Cup are the best competitions in the world. For a young player like me it’s good to play for a club who can reach the semifinal or the final because that’s why I play football, for the big games. In the English Premier League you play Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal and Man United every week and it’s very good, but I came here for trophies. This season was good for me, but not collectively because we didn’t win anything, and last season we won the Europa League. Individually it’s been good because I was able to play in almost every game, be on the pitch and do what I enjoy doing most, which is to play football. This season was an ‘almost’ season. Almost in the Champions League final, almost champions in the Premier League. I hope next season it will better and we can go to the next level.”"

There is little doubt that Eden Hazard has the quality and talent necessary to win the Ballon d’Or but what separates the good from the great players is consistency. Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi are able to dominate week in and week out and Hazard has yet to reach that level. The best part about his comments is the acknowledgement that he knows he must work harder the way Jose Mourinho has been pushing him to do. He is a phenomenal talent that has yet to fully bloom but with his work ethic and attitude it is almost a sure thing that he will.
