Chelsea FC leftback Ashley Cole revealed on his Twitter account today that he is unlikely to return to the club and will be looking at other destinations with his agent this summer. This comes on the back of Ashley Cole learning that he will not be heading to Brazil with the England World Cup squad so it will be a summer of new beginnings for the defender.

Ashley Cole would walk in to most sides in Europe but for whatever reason he was deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea. Whether this departure is because he did not want to sign a one year contract or if the club even offered him one we will surely find out one day. Regardless of where he ends up, even if it is Liverpool or Manchester United, Ashley Cole deserves the love and respect of every Chelsea supporter for his service to the club.
