Michael Ballack: Frank Lampard Is A Chelsea FC Legend
Former Chelsea Blue Michael Ballack reacted to Frank Lampard’s departure by saying that he is a legend at the club and has nothing left to achieve there. The pair played together for four years between 2006-2010 when Ballack arrived from Bayern Munich on a free transfer. They formed one of the Premier League’s best and most experienced midfields and won their fair share of trophies together.

Michael Ballack is widely regarded as one of the finest German midfielders of all time and he was truly world class while at Chelsea. He developed a strong connection for the club and clearly built strong relationships with the legends he played with in Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba.
Michael Ballack on Frank Lampard’s legendary status at Chelsea and his future:
"“He’s now at an age where he can be more relaxed; he’s achieved everything with Chelsea. He’s a legend there – and also for England. He’s in a good position. He should think about what he wants; does he want success in sport still, to play at the highest level? Or does he want to enjoy life? I think he’ll have a lot of offers. He’s experienced enough to make the right decision. He’ll always be welcome at Chelsea. Maybe it’s not bad if he plays a few years somewhere else and gains influences from outside England – but I think there will always be a place at Chelsea for him in the future.”"
Michael Ballack hits the nail on the head with his assessment of the situation. Lampard has won literally every trophy available to him at the Premier League and European level and has nothing left to prove at Chelsea. If he is ready to move on and take on a new challenge then he has certainly more than earned it. If that means a move to the MLS or to a lucrative offer in the Middle East then by all means. He will have the support of every Chelsea fan and then some.
