This lineup for the World Cup opener full of attacking talent with Neymar and Hulk lining up alongside Oscar in the attacking midfield. The two holding midfielders selected are Paulinho and Luiz Gustavo both of whom will look to shield the back four and start the swift counter attacks that this Brazil squad has become known for.
The defense is also full of top class players that can walk in to nearly any side in the World Cup. Marcelo and Dani Alves will be bombing up and down the flanks causing havoc for Croatia. Chelsea FC’s other Brazilians Ramires and Willian will begin the match on the bench but will hope to come in, particularly to help Brazil protect a lead with their tireless running and tracking back.
The Croatia lineup is also quite formidable particularly with Ivan Rakitic and Luka Modric manning the central midfield. They will be missing star striker Mario Mandzukic through suspension but Nikica Jelavic of Everton is a solid backup for the Bayern Munich man. Croatia is a proud side and they will look to attack Brazil but they will likely fall short. The attacking lineup featured here will be dangerous against Brazil’s power and speed but may leave them exposed to the counter attack.
