Chelsea FC Target Koke Plans To Stay At Atletico Madrid
Chelsea FC target and Spain midfielder Koke told Sky Sports that he plans to stay at Atletico Madrid next year despite interest from many other clubs around Europe including Manchester United. The 22 year old was one of Atletico and Diego Simeone’s star men as they clinched the La Liga title on the final day of the season against Barcelona.

Koke was also instrumental in Atletico Madrid’s Champions League campaign and was especially good against Chelsea in the semifinals. That performance over two legs is perhaps why he is being linked with the Blues in the first place but recent moves and transfers have made that seem all the more unlikely.
Koke on where his future lies:
"“My future is with Atletico. I am happy in my club and now I have a deal and do not think about an exit. Really my head is only focused on the work for Spain in Brazil 2014. My dream is to win this title with minutes in the game, although that depends on the coach. I have arrived to the team and each day I learn many things, especially about players such as Xavi and Iniesta.”Source: SkySports.com"
Chelsea adding Cesc Fabregas makes the addition of Koke less than likely as they both play similar positions. Many Chelsea fans were interested in adding the younger Koke because he would come with a cheaper price tag. In Fabregas however, the Blues have a player who is proven in the Premier League and has a championship pedigree at the club and international level.
So while Koke was the apple of many a Chelsea fan’s eye this summer, adding Fabregas and upsetting the club in North London is worth the extra few miilion pounds. Fabregas is a proven commodity and will hopefully slot right in to the Chelsea midfield the way Nemanja Matic did last season.
