Chelsea FC’s young center back Andreas Christensen has been linked with a loan move to Sunderland AFC but his agent Sten Christensen has come out and shut down the rumors of a move there. Sunderland are in the market for a central defender and they have also been linked with Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma as well. It appears that they will settle for any young centerback in the Chelsea setup that is primed for some Premier League action.

The young defender is only 18 years old but has been hoping for some regular first team football at Chelsea. Unfortunately for Andreas Christensen he has quite a few big names ahead of him in the queue including John Terry and Gary Cahill. A loan to a Premier League club would be the ideal move for the youngster as he gets the chance to play regularly rather than wait on the bench or only play U21 matches.

His representative, Sten Christensen, told Danish publication BT on the loan rumours:

"“That is news to me. I do not believe that Andreas will be joining Sunderland for the upcoming season. That is not my impression right now. I have not talked to the club about a loan for Andreas. At the moment, the plan is that Andreas will play for Chelsea when pre-season starts after the summer vacation. But things can change quickly in this game.”Source: Sky Sports"

Gus Poyet and Sunderland have already shown that they are open to fully utilizing loan players and it was Liverpool loanee Fabio Borini that played such a big role in helping them avoid relegation. Poyet also has a strong connection to Chelsea as he played for the club and has often spoke fondly of the club and its fans. If Christensen is to go on loan to a Premier League club than Sunderland should be at the top of the list of destinations.
