After the 7-1 humiliation Germany laid on Brazil, Chelsea FC’s Andre Schurrle extended his sympathies to his club teammates Ramires, Oscar, and Willian and said that they all gave everything on the pitch. Schurrle came on as a late sub and was brilliant in grabbing a brace for the Germans. His first goal was a simple tap in but his second was a display of the tremendous talent he possesses. Still it must have been a somber moment for Andre Schurrle as he celebrated while his Chelsea teammates were in tears.

Andre Schurrle has been a super sub for Germany in this World Cup and though he says he is “desperate to start” he knows that this is his “role for this World Cup so I will give everything”. Schurrle goes on to say, “we’re in a World Cup final, I’ve scored three goals, so I’m happy”. This is just another example of his character and the fact that he is all about the team and not just his individual achievements.

Andre Schurrle on his club teammates and the match against Brazil:

"“I don’t think you can joke about it. It’s hard for them for sure. They played a fantastic tournament with the emotions. They gave everything. They gave their heart. You could see it in every game. I just said to them to keep their heads up and I will see them in pre-season.”Source: Express.co.uk"

At just 23, Andre Schurrle is one of the bright young stars of this German team. He has outshone some of the more high profile players in the squad including Mesut Ozil of Arsenal who many people believe should be benched in favor of Schurrle. Schurrle’s three goals are still a tremendous achievement for a player of his age with the opener against a stubborn Algerian side being the most impressive. Win or lose on Sunday, Andre Schurrle will return to Chelsea more confident and more experienced player and if he can score in the World Cup final then his already rising stock may just go through the roof.
