Lucas Piazon Wants To Go On Loan To Impress Chelsea FC
Chelsea FC’s 20 year old youngster Lucas Piazon wants to go out on loan once again to get another chance to impress his manager Jose Mourinho. Piazon has been linked with moves to the Bundesliga after a season spent at Vitesse Arnhem in the Dutch league last year. He started the loan spell there off very well but as the quality of the club’s performances dropped, so did the level of Piazon’s play.
Soon enough he became an auxiliary figure and found game time hard to come by after being the star when he first arrived. Piazon says that he was upset at the end of the season when he was not playing but that when he “look[s] back, I’m pleased with my time at Vitesse. It’s a nice club. I arrived and started a game three days later, I scored some goals and played some minutes. We were top after 20 games”.

Despite the set back at the end of the season, Lucas Piazon is still convinced that he wants to play for Chelsea. He says that he “came from Brazil when I was 17 to play for Chelsea and that is still the target for my career”. This is quite a statement considering the talk from other loanees, Romelu Lukaku in particular, who have not been quite as open about their desire to stay at Chelsea. Piazon has always been a true professional and his maturity goes well beyond his years.
"“I will try to keep improving myself and have a good season. It is time for me to grow up and do something that will keep me in the plans for Chelsea. It’s where I want to play. It’s a club I really like and where the people treat me well from the day I first arrived. If not, I must show another club what I can do but I came from Brazil when I was 17 to play for Chelsea and that is still the target for my career. I know it is difficult, they have the best players in the world. That’s why we are all going on loan, to improve ourselves and try to be back one day. The young players always talk about it. Sometimes it’s hard but it’s necessary if you want to reach where you really want to be.”-Lucas PiazonSource: Daily Mail"
After making three loan moves in as many years, many players would become discourage or disilusioned by the process but Lucas Piazon remains upbeat and positive. He says that the “move to Europe has been good” for him and that he is “OK with [his] career”. He also says that “it was the right choice” and that “it was the best thing for [him] at that moment”. The move to Chelsea has seen Piazon play all over Europe and it appears his journey is not over yet. He certainly has the potential to make the senior squad at a top club and hopefully it will be at Chelsea.
