Chelsea FC: Lucas Piazon Loaned To Bundesliga Club Eintracht Frankfurt

Chelsea FC announced today that youngster Lucas Piazon has joined Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt on loan for the 2014/15 season. The Brazilian midfielder spent last season on loan at Dutch Eredivisie club Vitesse Arnhem where he enjoyed a productive first half of the season. Piazon was Vitesse’s best player when he first arrived but he could not maintain that form for the entire campaign. Many Chelsea fans believed that the club would look for a more aggressive loan for the youngster this season and it appears they were right.

Eintracht Frankfurt is a club with a rich history of excellence and they even have a UEFA Cup trophy in their cabinet. Their most recent success is a DFB-Pokal runners up medal in 2006 but they have also been relegated in the past decade. Last year they finished 13th in the Bundesliga and avoided the drop by a comfortable nine point. USA fans may recognize defender Timothy Chandler in their squad but they have no other recognizable stars. This is a great club for Lucas Piazon to break in to because he instantly becomes one of their better players.

Lucas Piazon is one of the most exciting talents coming up through the Chelsea system. He is still just 20 years old and is gaining valuable experience and is showing great signs of maturity as he plays for different clubs across Europe. He has proven that he is talented but that must be combined with the experience and stamina that only first team football can give him. If Lucas Piazon really wants to break in to the Chelsea first team squad, then a great season on loan in the German Bundesliga is the perfect place to start.
