Chelsea FC Squad Numbers for the 14/15 Season
A squad number that, as it changes hands, perhaps more than any other shows the direction Mourinho is taking Chelsea FC. Out goes fan favourite David Luiz, who did justice to the number 4 shirt in terms of character and likeability, but could never be fully relied upon for a consistent performance.
In comes Cesc Fabregas. The model professional, with bags experience at the highest level, Mourinho is assembling a team with an underlying mental fortitude. By no means a like for like replacement for Luiz, but a quality player that on the evidence of pre-season, is already adapting to life at Chelsea.
