Chelsea FC Squad Numbers for the 14/15 Season

With Juan Mata leaving for Man Utd in January of last season, Chelsea were without a number 10 for the reminder of the year. Although it has not been taken by a new signing, many Chelsea fans will have considered the news the Eden Hazard would be moving from #17 to #10 as extremely important.

Aside from the Chelsea fans with a number 17 Hazard shirt, it will have been welcome news to hear that Hazard was moving to #10 as it served as near confirmation that he intended to stay at Chelsea. At the time of the announcement he was subject to significant attention from PSG and whilst Mourinho was issuing a hands-off warning, the change of squad number reinforced his importance to the club. Expect a big season from the Belgian.
