Chelsea FC’s newest striker signing Diego Costa had a memorable debut at Stamford Bridge as he scored two goals within the first ten minutes of the match in the club’s last friendly of the preseason. Chelsea chose good competition in Real Sociedad to round out their warmup before the season began but the Spanish club proved to be no match for Diego Costa and the Blues.
Diego Costa’s first goal was the product of a run and finish of a player brimming with confidence and verve. Andre Schurrle found an open Ramires at the outside of the Sociedad box and the Brazilian took a touch and sent a through ball down the side of the six yard box.

Diego Costa made the perfect run for the pass and guided the ball in to the back of the net with a one-time finish with his right boot. The goal showed that Costa is in sync with his Chelsea teammates and that he simply knows where to be to receive killer passes from them in and around the box.
The second goal was simply a case of Costa being in the right place at the right time. Andre Schurrle unleashed a vicious curling shot from the outside of the box and had the keeper beat. Unfortunately for Schurrle the shot was just a bit outside and it caromed off the bar and directly in to the path of Diego Costa. The striker did well to one time it once again and smash it in to the goal when other strikers may have sent the rebound over the bar and out of play.
If this match was not enough for you to get excited about Diego Costa in a Chelsea shirt then do us a favor and get your pulse checked.
