Chelsea FC winger Victor Moses has completed a loan move to Stoke City FC today, the opening day of the Premier League season. The 23 year old Nigerian international spent last season on loan at Liverpool, although he didn’t seem to feature much, making just 19 appearances on Merseyside.
Moses presents a new attacking threat from the width of the pitch for Stoke City, who may be changing their style a bit this coming season under former Chelsea player Mark Hughes, who enters his second season as manager of the Potters.
"“We are delighted to have secured the services of such an exciting young talent in Victor. He will certainly add to our attacking options and from talking to him it’s obvious that he’s really excited about the prospect of making an impact in the Premier League with Stoke City.” Stoke City Chief Executive Tony Scholes"
Victor Moses is a young, homegrown player, and with our international player squad dilemma, it seems odd that we would loan out a homegrown player. The club must feel Moses is simply not up to scratch for the team we’ve created, but it’s also odd that we couldn’t find a club willing to purchase him outright.
I hope Moses does well at Stoke City, he does provide some good attacking talent from the wings, and should he be successful at the Brittania Stadium perhaps the club can sell him back on a permanent basis.
We wish Victor all the best!
