Cesc Fabregas Never Expected To Play For Chelsea FC
By Muneeb Khan
If you asked Chelsea FC fans a year ago who some of their least favorite footballers are, Cesc Fabregas would be at the top of many of those lists. Fabregas would probably be somewhere between Luis Suarez and anyone wearing a Spurs shirt. He was a grade-A Chelsea villain when he was at Arsenal and his move to Barcelona did not cool the hatred that burned for him at Stamford Bridge.
So when the move was announced this summer, many Chelsea fans were not quite sure how to feel. Sure Fabregas is an excellent player but he was also public enemy number one for quite some time. Eventually the supporters warmed up to the idea when they realized that despite his past, the Blues just added yet another world class player to the squad.

It appears that Fabregas himself was just as surprised that he ended up at Chelsea. He said about the move: “It’s something I would’ve never expected. Football is unexpected, it brought me here and I will give my best to be as good as I can be. I’m very happy at the moment, I want to play football.”
Being the true professional that he is, Fabregas has made short work of any awkwardness and has settled well at the club. He said about his comfort level at Chelsea: “They’ve made it so easy for me, everybody has welcomed me since day one. I’m comfortable with the staff and all the players, we have a good connection. I’m expecting a really good year in front of us.”
After his two assist performance against Burnley last Monday, he certainly converted any of his doubters among Chelsea supporters. He showed his tremendous vision with his assist to Andre Schurrle and his setpiece ability with a delightful corner to Branislav Ivanovic. Fabregas still has much to do to prove that he was worth the money spent on him but we’re certainly glad he’s doing damage in Chelsea blue this time around.
