Coming off a convincing opening day victory, Chelsea FC host Leicester City in the first Premier League match at Stamford Bridge of the season. The Blues come into this match after dispatching Burnley by a final score of 3-1, a match that saw Chelsea new boys Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas made a stunning impact. Costa scored his first goal for the club in the 17th minute, lashing in a rebound for a convincing goal that evened the match at 1 a piece. Just a few minutes on, former Arsenal and Barcelona man Fabregas got involved directly, a cross into the box from Ivanovic saw Fabregas clear to shoot and yet the Spaniard played a brilliant soft cross to an unmarked Andre Schurrle for the go ahead and match winning goal. Manager Jose Mourinho will hope his new signings will have similar impacts against The Foxes on Saturday, and he praised his midfield maestro earlier.
"‘We knew Fabregas was an important player from the moment we tried to buy him. Our team already had a structure and a way of playing on the pitch, but we knew we clearly needed that kind of midfield player” Mourinho, per the Chelsea FC Website."
With 3 goals and 3 points in the bag already, Chelsea will look to rekindle the magic of Fortress Stamford Bridge and remain on top of the (early) Premier League table. The Foxes however, will hope to take a minimum of one point back to the Midlands with them. Predicted Starting XI: ————————–Courtois———————- Ivanovic——Cahill—–JT————–Azpilicueta ——————Matic————Fabregas———- Schurrle————Oscar—————-Hazard— ————————-Costa—————————— Team Notes: Chelsea did not utilize new signing Filipe Luis in their first match, and so I would expect to see him either come on as a sub or potentially start the match on the left with Azpilicueta returning to right back. We could also see Willian instead of Schurrle, and possibly Ramires returning to the side following his suspension ending. Predicted Result: Chelsea 2-0 Leicester City I believe Costa will score again, and Eden Hazard will see his name added to the score-sheet as well against the feisty Foxes, who scored 2 against Everton in their opening Premier League match. Courtois may earn his first Premier League clean sheet. UTC! Follow us on Twitter at @PrideOLondon Like us on Facebook at The Pride of London
