Against Burnley in the opener, Chelsea conceded and fell behind in the first half. Thankfully for the Blues, they put together an inspired sequence and were able to take a commanding 3-1 lead. Against Leicester City they had trouble finding the opener and were close to going a goal down once again were it not for a tremendous Thibaut Courtois save. In the second half the Blues put it together once again and took a commanding lead and did not look back.

"“They were two tough games against teams that have just come up. We slipped up last season in games which people expected us to take points from but the Premier League isn’t as easy as that, you have to fight every time you take to the field. We’ve added to our squad, we know where we slipped up last year, so the first two games have been very important for us. Other teams have also strengthened so it’s going to be very tough. We know the expectation level at the club; we always expect to be in and around there but the Premier League is very difficult. We’re blessed to have two of the best goalkeepers around at this moment in time which is good for the team. Pete pulled off many great saves for us last season and Thibaut did the same on Saturday to keep us in the game.”-Gary CahillSource: ChelseaFC.com"

The Chelsea defense will be the key to the club’s title charge and Gary Cahill will hope to repeat as one of the Premier League’s best defenders. If his performance the last two matches is any indication then he is well on his way to doing so.
