AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao has once again been linked with a move to Chelsea FC.
It seems like every transfer window since the Colombian broke onto the scene during his fantastic 2011/12 campaign which saw him net 36 goals for Atlético Madrid that he has been linked to a big money move to Stamford Bridge. Falcao finished the 2012/13 season with 34 goals and was once again linked to a move to Chelsea, as Fernando Torres and Demba Ba continued to misfire throughout the season.

After his brilliant two year stint at the Vicente Calderón, Falcao opted for a switch to Ligue 1 and joined newly promoted AS Monaco as the club, financed by Russian billionaire, Dmitry Rybolovlev, looked to recapture the glory days of the club through big spending.
From what I’ve been able to make out from the Globo Esporte article through the help of Google Translate, is that Rybolovlev wants to get Falcao off of the books at Monaco as the club looks to be Financial Fair Play compliant.
Monaco tried to escape France’s 75 percent tax on salaries that are greater than one million euro as they are technically not a French club as Monaco is its own sovereign principality. From what Google Translate is telling me though, is that Rybolovlev was ordered to pay 50 million euros in the taxes that were necessary. Rybolovlev also went through a divorce settlement with his wife which cost him an estimated $4.5 billion.
As Rybolovlev looks to balance the books, Real Madrid and Chelsea have both emerged as potential suitors for Falcao. It is also a possibility that Fernando Torres could be involved in a swap for Falcao as José Mourinho considers adding more fire power to the striker position.
Both Real Madrid and Chelsea would both benefit from a Falcao arrival, as both clubs need striker alternatives to Karim Benzema and Diego Costa respectively. But with both clubs already spending big in the transfer window, it is hard to imagine Falcao making a move in this transfer window.
