Chelsea FC is quickly becoming more and more known for their charitable endeavors. From taking part in tournaments for charity, to taking the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, to putting together a Community Day for fans, Chelsea is doing good in all sorts of ways. In the first community day of the season, striker Diego Costa joined his new teammates Cesc Fabregas, John Terry and Petr Cech in welcoming the fans.
Community Day is an event put on by the Chelsea Foundation in which fans can meet with players, get autographs, and watch first-team training. The event is an excellent way for loyal supporters to see their favorite players up close and personal and it also helps the players develop a closer relationship and love for the club.

Diego Costa said of the event: “This was the first Community Day I have been involved in and it was a pleasure to play my part. It’s really nice to see the smiles on the faces of the fans. It is important the club shows a commitment to the fans and as players we are delighted to do our part. I’m sure they had a nice morning and hope it has helped in some way but it was also good for me to join in, everybody’s had a great morning.”
The big burly striker has a bit of a reputation as a hard man on the pitch and for good reason. Recently he has shown that he possesses a much softer side when he is not bullying defenders or staring down opposing center backs. Diego Costa should practice his smile and work on becoming more photogenic because when you join Chelsea Football Club, doing charity work becomes a very big part of what means to be a true Blue.
