Report: Chelsea FC Striker Islam Feruz To Join FC Kryli Sovetov On Loan
Chelsea FC has sent their players to their fair share of exotic locations but striker Islam Feruz’s loan to Russian second division side FC Kryli Sovetov is by far the strangest. Players have been sent to Chile, the second division in Spain, Netherlands, but this is the first Chelsea youngster to be sent to Russia to ply his trade.

Islam Feruz is one of the more promising youngsters in the Chelsea youth setup but is still a bit of an unknown commodity. At just 5’4″ he may be too small to be a striker in the Premier League but several other attackers in world football have overcome their short statures to be fantastic players.
Feruz has had an interesting career so far and some have called his maturity in to question since he made the move from Celtic to Chelsea. Celtic was instrumental in keeping Islam Feruz and his family in Scotland after they came as refugees and the supporters felt betrayed by the youngster. He has also gotten in to Twitter beefs with Celtic supporters and that is certainly not befitting of a Chelsea senior player.
An excerpt from The Daily Mail:
"Feruz is yet to make his senior bow for the Blues but has featured in various pre-season matches. Cardiff City, Reading, Brighton and Derby had shown interest in the Somalia-born teenager before the youngster opted for the Russian side. Chelsea’s list of players out on loan now increases to eighteen.Source: The Daily Mail"
The most interesting part of that little snippet is that apparently Feruz is the one that chose his loan destination. He could have played in the Championship in England with Derby County or Cardiff City but instead decided to play in the Russian second division.
Perhaps he wanted to challenge himself in a new frontier or maybe Kryli Sovetov was the only club willing to pay his full wages. Whatever the case may be we certainly wish Islam Feruz the best of luck in Russia whenever this move is made official.
