Chelsea FC travel to Merseyside to take on Everton at Goodison Park today. Everton have begun their 2nd campaign under Roberto Martinez fairly well, drawing with Leicester City on the opening match as well as Arsenal in their second match.

This matchup will include a couple of former Chelsea players wearing the home blues of Everton, including Romelu Lukaku and EFC’s newest signing Samuel Eto’o. Romelu Lukaku came off limping against Arsenal, but should be fit to play against his former club. EFC has hinted that Eto’o may be thrown into the starting XI, according to the team website.

Chelsea have an injury concern as well, as Diego Costa missed multiple training sessions with a light muscle injury, however Chelsea have cleared him for the trip to Goodison and he did participate in some light training yesterday. Costa has scored in his first two league matches with Chelsea and would be a big loss given that Drogba may not be fit to play a full 90 and Chelsea recently agreed to a 2 year loan of Fernando Torres to AC Milan.

Predicted Starting XI

Predicted Starting XI: (4-2-3-1)
————————–Courtois———————-
Azpilicuteta——Cahill—–JT————–Ivanovic
——————Matic————Fabregas———-
Schurrle——————Oscar—————-Hazard—
————————-Drogba——————————

Should Costa be fit to start, he will lead the line. We could also see Schurrle playing up front.

Prediction:

Everton 1-2 Chelsea

I believe that either Eto’o or Lukaku will score for Everton, because thats just how these things go, but that a goal from Hazard/Fabregas/Schurrle and one of our strikers will secure the 3 points for Chelsea.
