Loic Remy Is Looking Forward To Working With Jose Mourinho

The French forward is currently on international duty with the national team and has yet to join the Chelsea camp after making his transfer from Queens Park Rangers official.

Remy has spent the past season and a half in the English Premier League with QPR and on loan at Newcastle United. He has worked with managers Harry Redknapp and Alan Pardew who are both fine managers but are certainly not on the level of Jose Mourinho.

Loic Remy said about the Portuguese manager: “I spoke with [Mourinho], he is very clever and he knows exactly what he wants. He has targets for me and I know I have a target for myself as well. Everybody wants the best so the discussion was really good. I know he can get the best out of a player and I’m looking forward to working with him.”

He also spoke about the competition he faces at the striker position and said: “We have two great strikers here already and I don’t have a choice if I want to be in the team – I have to play at a very high level.” Nice use of we there, Loic.

Loic Remy was certainly signed to add depth to the squad after they loaned out Fernando Torres to AC Milan on a two year deal. He has not played in the Champions League since 2011/12 but he certainly has enough big match experience from his time at Marseille.

That does not mean he will start any of those matches but it does mean that he will not overwhelmed by the moment if he is called upon due to injury or suspension. Chelsea now has three strikers with fantastic pedigrees and more importantly, they are all full of confidence and are on form.
